Lizzie has also had the pleasure of working with some wonderful singers, conductors and composers, such as Sir David Wilcox, Eric Whiticare, John Rutter, The Swingle Singers, The King Singers and G4. Lizzie is a mezzo soprano, who sings many styles, such as jazz, classical and musical theatre. She is a bright and bubbly performer, who lights up the stage.
Lizzie Curwen comes from a small town in the Lake District. She has spent her life studying dancing, singing and acting since the age of three. Her training began in Cumbria at the Tokari School of Dance. She then moved to London to further her training at the well renowned Laine Theatre Arts.
At Laine Theatre Arts Lizzie was trained in all three disciplines, dance, singing and acting to become a triple threat. Lizzie achieved a Trinity diploma in Musical theatre, an ATCL diploma in Acting and FDI modern from Laine Theatre Arts. Lizzie then took her training to Guildford School of Acting where she achieved a degree in Theatre.
Lizzie has also been trained in classical singing for the past 10 years. She achieved grade 8 distinction in ARCM in 2006, and has been part of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain for almost 10 years. Lizzie also sang with the Phillharmonia chorus last year, and achieved many prizes and praises in her local town of Kendal.
Lizzie discovered her love for singing at a very young age, when being shown old fashioned musicals such as those with Judy Garland and Doris Day in them. Her passion for performance and voice has developed from there, and continued to grow. Lizzie recently said, “I can not imagine a day without a song”. That’s why this Christmas, Lizzie can been seen on the stage in Norfolk at the Thursford Christmas Spectacular.
She is also available for hire for those special occasions, now.
